The Kayrros Quarry and Mine Surveyor

allows operators to create accurate 3D models of their assets. These models make it possible to track the progress of an opencast pit or quarry against plan, particularly for large and/or remote assets. They also provide accurate measurements of the volume of overburden and run-of-mine production, giving operators greater insights into mining productivity and helping finance managers track inventories and validate contractor invoices

Technology

The Kayrros Quarry and Mine Surveyor utilizes high-resolution 70 cm optical imagery from the Planet SkySat constellation of satellites. Images, taken a few seconds apart, are used to create stereo views of open pits, quarries and stockpiles that make it possible to build 3D models. These can be integrated into asset management systems or turned into volumes of product inventory or waste material.
